Great local support at our collection day.
To meet the extra demand and to ensure we had enough food to cover the Summer holidays, we held a collection day at Waitrose in Hersham.
Walton & Hersham Foodbank has experienced higher than normal demand over the past six months which has resulted in low food stocks.
To boost our supplies, we held a supermarket collection day at Waitrose, Hersham asking shoppers to buy something for us from our most wanted shopping lists.
We were assisted on the day by a great team from Surrey County Council Passenger Transport Projects Team and alongside our regular volunteers, we managed to hand out over 500 shopping lists and collect 685 kgs of food.
